A quick year-end summary for solo PvP in Faction Warfare.

The data includes only:

• Solo kills (single character or single character with top damage + NPC)
• Kills between January 1st and December 27th in 2024
• Systems in FW (Insurgency expansions to high sec and non-FW low sec are not tracked)
• Fights between frigates and destroyers in the latest Yearbook. The average win rate is also calculated for this sample without mirror match-ups

Most popular ships

Navy ships continue to push T1 out of the meta, and Navy destroyers continue to climb the ladder. If we stay on the same trend in 2025, I expect Navy Catalyst to become the most popular ship in FW next year. In my experience, it makes more and more sense to use anti-destroyer frigate fits (ex., kiters with EWAR), especially in Insurgencies.

In other news, Tristan is not the most popular T1 frigate in FW for the first time in at least 10 years, with Rifter taking the #1 spot.

The "strongest" ships

There are big air quotes here because the sample is small, a high win rate means you will not get many 1v1s in these ships and have to earn solo kills outnumbered.

However, there are a few reasonably priced ships, such as Hawk (#9), Ishkur (#11) and Navy Catalyst (#13). Speaking of Hawk, check out our recent tests of this frigate on the EveFrigates YouTube channel:
